Job summary

City of Omaha seeks a Part-time Park Maintenance Worker to assist in the care, custody, and cleaning of parks and recreation facilities. Living in the park may be required if provided, and the role requires being on call 24 hours daily with substantial public relations responsibilities.

Responsibilites include supervising staff, enforcing park rules, maintaining facilities and turf, operating equipment, applying pesticides, and snow removal.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in minor maintenance of park equipment and related manual labor.
• Knowledge of park policies and regulations for public use.
• Ability to operate park maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and write English and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and directs staff in care, custody, and cleaning of park facilities.
• Enforces park regulations and reports vandalism.
• Makes reservations for park facility use and processes user fees.
• Removes debris, cleans restrooms, and maintains grounds.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and turf care.
• Diagnoses plant problems and applies turf pesticides/fertilizers.
• Includes snow removal duties as assigned.
• Maintains attendance and completes required reports.
