Job summary

Parks & People in Baltimore is seeking a Design & Construction Project Manager to guide parks development from concept to construction, coordinating with public officials, community leaders and partners to expand access to quality green spaces.

The role emphasizes design oversight, budgeting, schedule management, compliance, and community engagement, focusing on equitable urban park projects and sustainable environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, urban planning, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in project management methods for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and evaluation.
• Experience working with community groups and government agencies.
• Knowledge of construction regulations and requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with superb organizational detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee conceptual design development and production of drawings and plans.
• Develop construction phasing in collaboration with the Park Projects team.
• Manage project budgets, invoices and reporting; stay within budget.
• Oversee bidding and consultant selection processes as required by funding.
• Assist with securing permits and regulatory compliance for park projects.
• Engage communities and partners; communicate project status clearly.
