Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - PGC Parks and Recreation seeks a Lead Construction Representative to review plans, coordinate with contractors, and manage major maintenance projects across Prince George’s County. The role requires a strong background in construction management and plan coordination with teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's Degree in construction-related fields, at least 6 years of permitting and inspection experience, and

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying or related field.
• 6 years of progressively responsible construction permitting, inspection and management experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 8 years.
• Must pass Commission medical examination.
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with State and Commission rules, unencumbered by restrictions.
• Must obtain Maryland Responsible Person Certificate (green card) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Review site and construction plans, permit requests, drawings/blueprints; inspect/repair parking lots, bridges, trails and other projects on Commission property with contractors and internal shops.
• Coordinate with contractors and staff to develop plans, specifications, and cost analyses for Division projects; submit data to a centralized database for work orders and upgrades.
• Initiate and conduct planning, pre-construction meetings with staff, contractors, and public agencies; oversee closeout of assigned projects.
• Manage the work of several trade shops and assist the Construction Manager in Major Maintenance program budgeting.
