Job summary

St. Mark Parish in Shoreline, WA is seeking a part-time facilities maintenance worker to perform general maintenance of parish and school buildings and grounds, including minor electrical, plumbing, lighting and heating (gas boilers), as a stop gap until a full-time manager is found.

The role involves preventative maintenance, basic repairs, inventory of tools, irrigation work, and contributing to budgets. Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and interacting with parishioners respectfully.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a facility maintenance worker/handyman.
• Experience with hardware, tools, and electrical equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Some knowledge of natural gas HVAC systems helpful.
• Must pass background check and provide 3 references.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance to buildings and grounds to minimize failures.
• Diagnosis problems and make repairs to facilities, including plumbing and mechanical repairs.
• Taking inventory of tools and maintenance supplies.
• Drip irrigation system repairs: watering hoses, sprinkler heads, timers, etc.
• Provides recommendations input to supervisor for budgets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
