Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago seeks a Facility and Maintenance Manager to assure optimal building and grounds function in support of parish initiatives. You will manage projects, oversee maintenance and custodial staff, and coordinate with the Operations Director and parish leaders to steward physical resources.

Responsibilities include securing bids, budgeting input, supervising vendors, and ensuring safety, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and grounds systems are well maintained in a faith-based

Qualifications

• Certification/licensure or an Associate degree in technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience or equivalent combination of formal education and related work experience such as building maintenance and related systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for facilities and grounds management.
• Basic knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing and electrical.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and communicate to others in writing.
• Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Primary contact for contractors and vendors for facilities management.
• Obtain bids on projects and submit evaluations for approval.
• Input into annual budget and forecasts for facility costs.
• Oversee maintenance and custodial staff; perform evaluations.
• Ensure security of parish grounds and coordinate with police when needed.
• Ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems operate reliably.
