Job summary

Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay, LA is seeking a Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate (part-time, non-exempt) to maintain parish facilities and cemetery grounds and oversee Maintenance & Capital Improvement Projects. The role reports to the Director of Business Operations and requires about 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include supervising parish maintenance volunteers and external contractors, performing basic carpentry and grounds keeping, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• General facilities maintenance, basic carpentry, and grounds keeping knowledge.
• Experience with tools and equipment used in church facilities.

Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate

The Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate is apart-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for the maintenance andupkeep of the parish facilities and cemetery grounds and oversee Maintenance & CapitalImprovement Projects for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church-Chackbay.

The Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate reports to the Director of Business Operations and will be expected to work approximately 25 hours per week.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:

Qualifications to Perform the Job Successfully:

Education and/or Experience:

• General facilities maintenance, basic carpentry, and grounds keeping knowledge.

Other Skills and Requirements:

• Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training.
• Must have a driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must have own transportation which can be used for reasonable work-related errands.
• Ability to conduct oneself with a professional attitude and manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive situations, documents, and records.
• Basic knowledge of the Catholic Church, teachings, and her values.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to communicate clearly by phone, in written form including email, and verbally with staff members, and parishioners, volunteers, and other professionals in the English language.
• Must be able to multi-task and set priorities.
• Must be able to regularly walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, and the like for long periods of time.
• Ability to operate handheld tools, power tools/equipment, and measuring devices.
• Must be able to perform strenuous activities, including but not limited to lifting and/or moving between 75lbs-100lbs unassisted or with the use of a dolly.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather (e.g. hot, cold, wet).
