Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; endorsement in early childhood preferred.
• Must have at least 60 college credit hours.
• Early Childhood Teacher Certification preferred; Foundational and Model Implementation training may be required depending on services.

Responsibilities

• Visits the home of every parent in the program according to the schedule.
• Plans presentation of materials for parents and children.
• Plans individual and group activities to stimulate language, social, and motor skills.
• Develops instructional materials for diverse learners.
• Promotes awareness of each child's worth and role in family and community.
• Encourages parents to express themselves creatively in art, music, and drama.
• Provides an appropriate climate to establish and reinforce positive behavior.
• Assesses families' needs and cooperates with other staff.
• Delivers individual and small group instruction to meet needs.
• Communicates with parents via newsletters, notes, calls, and conferences.
• Interprets school programs to parents to strengthen understanding.
