Job summary

Avondale Elementary School District is seeking a Part-time Parent Outreach Liaison to develop and maintain parent engagement opportunities on campus and through community partnerships.

The role supports events, parent education, and volunteer activities, serving as a bridge among school administration, staff, parents, and community partners to promote involvement and student achievement. Evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and correspondence.
• Must possess valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
• Computer proficiency with basic software applications.
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents/guardians, staff, and district personnel at all levels and with outside agencies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative and work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with parents/guardians, staff, district personnel at all levels and outside agencies.
• Ability to maintain organized, comprehensive records for reporting information.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible and evening hours as needed.
• Possess group leadership skills.
• Must be able to pass a background check upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between school personnel, parents/guardians, and the community.
• Collaborate with site teachers and staff to provide parent education and events (e.g., Parent volunteer meetings, PTSO, Literacy Nights).
• Create, coordinate, and facilitate parent meetings.
• Foster awareness of our school community and visitors.
• Connect parents to leadership and volunteer opportunities.
• Compile information for the school website regarding parent involvement.
• Maintain parent information areas at the school site with resources.
• Use data to provide programs addressing the needs of parents and the school.
• Confidentially maintain a variety of records (parent information, attendance, data logs).
• Prepare reports to Administration including program hours, parent information, programs/events.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the parent program.
