Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in North America seeks a Director to lead the strategy, growth, and operations of our parcel transportation solution. You will build a multi-carrier network, manage carrier agreements, design customer parcel programs, and drive profitable growth across eCommerce and returns.

This role requires senior leadership, deep parcel market knowledge, and the ability to translate insights into scalable programs that delight customers and optimize cost.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of logistics, transportation, parcel, ecommerce, fulfillment, distribution, or related supply chain experience
• 5+ years of parcel transportation experience including carrier management, program design, rate structures, service options, claims
• Experience managing multi-carrier transportation programs (national/regional/local/expedited)
• Experience negotiating carrier contracts, rate agreements, service levels, and commercial terms
• Experience managing P&L, freight spend, revenue, gross profit, cost improvement, billing and payment controls
• Experience leading direct reports and cross-functional teams in a customer-facing environment
• Experience supporting new business pursuits, customer solution design, implementations and executive reviews
• Deep knowledge of parcel market incl. carrier capabilities, rate structures, accessorials, returns and peak planning
• Strategic leadership to build and operate scalable parcel solutions
• Carrier sourcing, negotiation, contract administration, governance, scorecarding and relationship management
• Strong program management, change management, and execution discipline

Responsibilities

• Define and commercialize DHL Supply Chain’s parcel transportation solution, including standard offerings and governance
• Partner with Business Development, Account Management, Solution Design, Operations, and customers to design parcel programs meeting service, cost, speed, visibility, returns and CX
• Support pursuit activity by translating parcel market expertise into actionable solutions and compelling value propositions
• Establish customer-facing performance reviews and business reviews covering service, cost, claims, accessorials, carrier mix and savings opportunities
• Lead parcel carrier strategy across national, regional, local, postal, gig, economy, expedited, and specialty providers
• Own carrier sourcing, contract negotiation support, rate card administration, SLAs, capacity planning and relationship management
• Monitor parcel market changes to keep DHL’s solution competitive and resilient
• Ensure programs are financially sound and aligned with customer commitments
• Create scalable operating processes for onboarding, daily management, exceptions, claims, and peak planning
• Define parcel reporting and analytics roadmap to manage spend, service, carrier performance, and improvements
• Build and lead a team responsible for parcel carrier management, analytics, and customer support
