Job summary

Twin Falls County is seeking a Plat/Mapping Technician to maintain real property ownership and mapping records, processing deeds, and interpreting legal descriptions. You will update parcel information, assist with boundary changes, and provide customer service to property owners and title companies.

The role operates under the Mapping Supervisor, with training provided in property records, GIS, deed processing, and county systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience with detailed records, legal documents, real estate, title work, surveying, GIS, mapping or similar work preferred but not required.
County provides training in property mapping, legal descriptions, deed processing, GIS and county systems.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Must pass a background investigation and remain in good standing for employment.

Responsibilities

Reviews and processes deeds and other documents affecting property ownership or legal descriptions.
Updates ownership, deed history, parcel information, and related assessor records.
Reads and interprets deeds, legal descriptions, plats, surveys, and metes-and-bounds descriptions.
Performs basic calculations to verify parcel boundaries and acreage.
Assists with property splits, combinations, subdivisions, and lot-line adjustments.
Researches ownership, legal descriptions, acreage and mapping questions; resolves discrepancies.
Maintains accurate property records, maps, plats and supporting files.
Provides customer service to property owners, title companies, attorneys, County staff and the public.
Coordinates with Assessor staff to reflect changes in County records.
Maintains confidentiality and follows County policies.
