Job summary

PBC Property Appraiser in West Palm Beach seeks a mapping technician to support the county-wide property tax roll with basic mapping and title functions. This full-time, non-exempt role involves GIS drafting, data interpretation, and map maintenance under close supervision.

Responsibilities include creating parcel maps, researching ownership data, and providing map interpretations, while learning and applying CAD tools such as ArcGIS Pro or AutoCAD to ensure accurate records and maps.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or recognized equivalent.
• One year (1) of experience or a combination of on-the-job training and education equal to one year with drafting, surveying is desirable.
• Must be able to read, understand and work from plats, deeds, legal descriptions and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret parcel identification data and locate properties.
• Maintain the Office mapping and titling systems.
• Perform CAD map drafting including traversing legal descriptions.
• Create, maintain, and revise official parcel maps in digital form to accurately represent all land parcels and tax districts.
• Tax roll verification of ownership and research abstract records.
• Respond to inquiries from the public and other County agencies in a polite and courteous manner.
