Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist I to support our GIS operations remotely within service territories. You will contribute to the collection, processing, and maintenance of digital utility maps and related data.

The role includes editing, QA, data manipulation, metadata management, and integration with asset management systems. A 1–3 year GIS background and proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise are preferred, along with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of prior work experience in a similar GIS role.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to edit mapping systems.
• Experience with drafting, surveying, and electronic mapping materials/software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Normal vision and hearing; able to follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare and process GIS information for the system.
• Assist with GIS mapping, data bases, layers, and file translation.
• Create, convert, translate, migrate and import GIS data from sources.
• Edit, quality control, and analyze digital map data.
• Integrate other asset management programs into GIS.
• Maintain metadata and archive digital media.
• Communicate production concerns to supervisor.
