Job summary

Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) in Santa Rosa seeks a Paratransit Driver to transport and assist elderly and disabled clients, load/unload, and operate wheelchair lifts. A Commercial Driver's License is not required for this role.

You will use a tablet and radio to coordinate trips, document records, and work with a compassionate team in a flexible schedule that serves diverse routes throughout the community.

Qualifications

• Defensive driving knowledge and safe operation of vehicles.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Awareness of HIPAA rules and patient privacy considerations.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers on and off vehicles.
• Ensure the safety of disabled or frail clients with physical support.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and secure wheelchairs in vehicles.
• Record and maintain paperwork accurately.
• Communicate using a two-way radio system.
• Operate a computer tablet for trip data.
• Report vehicle repair needs promptly.
• Maintain a positive, supportive attitude toward clients and coworkers.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training.
