Job summary

The City of Jefferson is hiring a Bus Driver/Communications Operator for JeffTran. This role serves as the main communication link between drivers, the public, supervisors and passengers. It coordinates scheduling and routing for paratransit and other services, with occasional driving duties.

Training is provided for the MO Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, and duties may include supervising other staff and handling public inquiries about schedules and services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MO Class B CDL with passenger endorsement within two weeks of hire; training provided.
• Ability to operate and coordinate paratransit and transportation services.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main communication link between drivers, the public, supervisors and passengers.
• Schedule paratransit and other operations; dispatch drivers.
• Maintain records of paratransit fares and passes; issue/paratransit passes.
• Fill in as a bus driver and supervise as needed.
