Job summary

The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence is seeking a trainee driver to join the public transit team. Responsibilities include attending trainings, driving under supervision, and learning the CDL-B ELDT process to obtain the license and endorsements while complying with DMV/DOT requirements.

Trainees will perform duties such as bus cleaning, daily reporting, safety checks, and participating in agency trainings and meetings as required.

Qualifications

• CDL-B ELDT training program participation.

Responsibilities

• Train to obtain CDL license with endorsements per regulations.
• Learn compliance requirements for 19-A regulations.
• Practice safe driving per DMV/DOT rules.
• Attend agency trainings and meetings as scheduled.
• Remove trash, clean the bus, and perform daily checks.
• Conduct walk-through after passengers disembark.
• Report incidents according to policy.
• Maintain daily vehicle and grant reports.
• Follow the Bus Drivers' Handbook procedures.
• Ensure passengers are seated and belted before transport.
