Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a paraprofessional to support instructional delivery in a K-12 classroom for students with and without disabilities. You will assist in planning, setting up materials, monitoring progress, and documenting data under the teacher’s direction.

You will collaborate with educators to implement behavior techniques, participate in professional development, and communicate with families while contributing to an inclusive learning environment across UCP campuses in

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with required education credits or Parapro score.
• Experience in K-12 classroom settings is preferred.
• Experience supporting students with and without disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plans and instructional groups per teacher guidance.
• Assists in preparing instructional materials and setting up activities.
• Administers assessments and tracks student progress with data collection.
• Documents academic progress through observations and records.
• Supports behavior management and classroom routines.
• Performs teacher duties in their absence when needed.
• Attends trainings, meetings and communicates with families and administrators.
• Maintains clean classroom and supports student care as needed.

The paraprofessional also leads the classroom in the event of a teacher absence.Job Responsibilities:Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.Attend required trainings, meetings and events.Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.Perform other duties as assigned.What UCP OffersOur mission at UCP is to empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
