Job summary

Horizonte Instruction Center in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Paraprofessional I (FT) to support teachers and students in general education classrooms. You will reinforce lessons, supervise students, and perform clerical tasks to assist academic growth.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus qualifications under ESSA. CPR/First Aid and health training are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be Highly Qualified per ESSA and meet one of: two years college (48 sem hrs) or an associate degree or passing PRAXIS/ParaPathways.
• CPR & First Aid certificate within 2 months of hire and Annual Health Services Training required.
• Strong English reading/writing and grammar skills; effective communication with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom work under teacher direction to reinforce lesson plans.
• Proctor tests and monitor student progress under supervision.
• Confer with teacher to evaluate progress and adjust objectives.
• Implement learning and behavior plans to meet IEP goals.
• Maintain safe environment and provide appropriate interventions.
