Job summary

Salt Lake City School District is seeking a Paraprofessional I (PT) to support general education classrooms at North Star Elementary School in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will reinforce lessons, monitor student engagement, and assist with clerical tasks while following IEP and health plans under supervision.

The role is part-time (0.7375 FTE; up to 29.5 hours/week) with a starting wage of $18.50 per hour and non-contract status.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting and criminal background check required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ESSA Highly Qualified status by two years of college or an associate degree or a Parapro score 460+.
• Transcripts or diploma must be provided with your application.
• CPR & First Aid certificate within 2 months of hire.
• Annual Health Services Training required.
• Strong English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
• Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios).
• Experience using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom work under teacher direction to reinforce lessons.
• Administer tests and monitor student progress under supervision.
• Assist with evaluating student progress and implementing objectives.
• Follow IEPs and health plans to support student development.
• Ensure a safe, positive learning environment across settings.
• Prepare teaching materials and handle clerical tasks for lesson plans.
