Job summary

Ascension St Vincent Plainfield Micro Hospital in Plainfield, IN, seeks a PRN provider for the Emergency Department. You will identify and stabilize patients, implement transport team protocols, and educate families while maintaining equipment for safe care.

The role requires AL S/BLS and Indiana DHS EMT/Paramedic credentials, with a preferred Paramedic license and a valid Indiana driver’s license. Prior ED experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification: Advanced Life Support within 180 days; BLS within 30 days.
• EMT or Paramedic credential from Indiana DHS prior to hire date.
• Valid driver's license preferred; Pediatric ALS preferred.
• 4 years of relevant job experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Identify, intervene and stabilize the ill or injured patient with physician and/or RN.
• Initiate interventions per transport team protocols and monitor patient condition.
• Educate patient and family about illness and treatment options.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure safety for transport team and patients.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years experience

Associate's/Technical degree

4 years of applicable experience

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
• Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
• Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
• Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
  

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
