Job summary

Harris EMS is actively seeking a Paramedic to join Harris Regional Medical Center’s team in Sylva, NC. The role involves responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, delivering advanced life support, and ensuring units are ready for incidents.

A high school diploma is required, with preferred associate degree and North Carolina Paramedic certification. Responsibilities include shift coverage, equipment readiness, and collaboration with the team to provide timely, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic certification or eligibility.
• Two years’ experience as a full-time Paramedic is desired.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide ALS/BLS care.
• Ensure unit is stocked, equipped, and ready for single or multiple incidents.
• Participate in shift scheduling and coverage when needed.

Working as a team, respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to a single or multiple patient incidents. Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are not available to cover a shift. Shift work requires a mixture of days, nights, and twenty-four-hour coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service. Harris EMS area of operation including patient's houses, infrastructures, hospitals, and long-term care facilities

What we're looking for

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job.However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

• High School Diploma required.Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic, National Registry Preferred.
• Two years’ experience as a full time Paramedic desired
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI ACLS/ALS
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI PALS, or PEPP
• BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS/TECC or TCCC , acquire within 6 months, then maintain thereafter
