Job summary

CSL Plasma in Norman, Oklahoma is seeking a part-time Paramedic to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.

Under supervision, you will interview donors, review medical histories, determine donor suitability, and escalate critical medical situations to the Center Physician as needed. Experience in a plasma or blood center is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• Respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up.
