Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed or certified as an emergency medical technician.
• Minimum of one year in a health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and review medical history for suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results to determine donor suitability and assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical cases to Center Physician.
