Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

Join us for the Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN (Bilingual – English/Spanish) role at CSL.

Overview

Responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising approved immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations), and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including medication or treatments as per licensure or certification. You will report to the Center Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote positive relations with donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to assess donor suitability.
• Coordinate with medical staff on donor health questions.
• Perform health assessments and review test results.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Handle medical emergencies, maintain emergency kits.
• Review test results for continued suitability, adhere to SOPs.
• Monitor signs and symptoms affecting donation ability.
• Oversee donor immunization programs where applicable.
• Accurately record data in electronic systems.
• Maintain a clean environment and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Follow safety policies, promote safety, and conduct audits.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Possibility of cross-training and bilingual duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic program. Foreign graduates must be licensed or certified accordingly.

Experience: At least 1 year in healthcare; experience in plasma or blood collection preferred; ability to assess physical signs and instruct donors and staff.

Working Conditions

Ability to make decisions impacting the work unit; physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds; work in a fast-paced environment; exposure to hazards; use of PPE; overtime may be required.
