Job description

Join to apply for the Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN role at CSL.

Responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising approved immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations), and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medications or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification. You will report to the Center Manager.

The Role
  • Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
  • Conduct confidential interviews to determine donor suitability.
  • Respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director and/or Center Physician.
  • Perform medical history reviews and health assessments.
  • Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
  • Explain informed consent, including procedures, hazards, and potential adverse events.
  • Handle medical emergencies, provide routine care, and check emergency supplies regularly.
  • Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
  • Oversee donor immunization programs and review antibody titer results.
  • Record donor data accurately in the electronic system.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • May be cross-trained or bilingual as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Education
  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic program.
  • If from a foreign medical school, must be licensed or certified accordingly.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in plasma or blood collection preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical assessments and instruct donors and staff.
Working Conditions
  • Decision-making with moderate impact.
  • Ability to follow instructions, observe, and communicate effectively.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform assessments.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazards.

Salary range: $19.95 to $39.60
