Qualifications

• Current State of Rhode Island EMT-Paramedic license with 1 year field EMS experience.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic certification.
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications; instructor status preferred.
• EVOC certification within one year of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Nursing or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-invasive patient care alongside the critical care paramedic during transport in accordance with established standards, protocols and policies.
• Assists in development of patient care protocols and methods; participates in training curricula and research.
• Completes patient documentation per Rhode Island Hospital and Rhode Island Department of Health timelines.
• Performs public education, marketing and outreach and maintains a cheerful, positive attitude toward patients and families.
• Maintains clinical skill proficiency and knowledge base within scope of practice; adheres to safety standards.
