Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Paramedic for the North Lakeland Freestanding ED in Lakeland, FL. The role involves delivering advanced patient care in the Emergency Department and related areas under physician supervision.

Shift: 1a–1p; location: Lakeland, FL. Requires completion of a Paramedic program and current Florida PMD certification, with ACLS/BLS and potential PALS within a year. The incumbent will collaborate with RNs, RTs and physicians to assess, monitor, and respond to patient

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a Paramedic program.
• Current Florida PMD Paramedic certification renewed every 2 years.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
• Maintains current ACLS certification.
• If appropriate, obtain and maintain PALS certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care with advanced skills in Emergency Department, Critical Care or Respiratory settings as directed by Medical Director.
• Follows Florida paramedic practice model outlined in competencies and guidelines.
• Communicates patient condition and documents findings with nursing and medical staff.
• Ensures patient safety, infection control and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Prioritizes activities to support timely admissions, discharges and transfers and patient comfort.
• Administers limited medications within education/competency guidelines.
