Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a skilled Paramedic for full-time Night shift. You will identify and stabilize patients during transport under EMS protocols, providing direct care and managing advanced airways as needed.

Responsibilities include ventilator management, LVAD support, and administration of medications per protocols. Licensing requirements include BLS, ACLS, PALS, PARA, and CDL or DL as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• 1+ year of emergency vehicle operations experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.
• Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines.
• Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, LMA, and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.
• Manages ventilators, IABP, and LVAD during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols.

Job Description:

• Schedule: Full Time Nights, Shifts start at 6 pm 7 pm or 8 pm
  12-hour shifts, Panama Schedule 2 on/ 2 off, 3 on/ 2 off, 2 on/ 3 off

• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.
• Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines.
• Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, Laryngeal mask airway (LMA), and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.
• Manages ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required]
• Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

• 1+ experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]
