Job summary

Ascension Health in Racine, WI is seeking a dedicated ED professional for a full-time day shift. The role requires ALS/paramedic credentials, BLS and state licensing prerequisites, and a focus on stabilizing patients in the emergency department setting.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, initiate interventions per transport team protocols, and maintain critical equipment. This position emphasizes patient-centered education and safety, with comprehensive hospital benefits and growth

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Paramedic credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
• Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
• Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
• Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
