Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure safe donor screening and plasma collection processes in accordance with regulatory standards.

You will determine donor eligibility, assess reactions, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests while working under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance. Minimum clinical experience and state licensure as EMT-Paramedic are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completed nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified as EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and liaise with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Can serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
