Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Paramedic to provide prehospital emergency medical care and transport. You will drive EMS units, deliver basic and advanced life support, complete regulatory documentation, and maintain equipment and supplies on every shift.

Applicants must have PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege, valid CPR, and current preceptor status. Minimum HS diploma and 5 years EMS experience preferred; ACLS, PALS, ITLS/PHTLS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 5 years' EMS experience and current preceptor status
• Medical Command eligible
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege in PA or licensed PHRN
• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness and Haz-Mat knowledge (preferred)
• One year AHN EMS experience (preferred)

Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

• Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• For Prehospital Response Unit 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
• Medical Command eligible
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN

Preferred

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ISS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
• One year experience (AHN EMS)
