Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an experienced EMS professional to provide emergency medical care in the prehospital environment. You will communicate effectively with all departments involved in Emergency Medical Care and participate in rapid assessment, life support, and transport decisions.

The role requires PA Paramedic licensure (or EMS Compact Privilege) and compliance with regulatory standards, plus the ability to maintain equipment, perform documentation, and collaborate with the EMS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years' relevant experience and current preceptor status
• Medical Command eligible
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN

Responsibilities

• Drives emergency or response vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
