Required: High school diploma or GED; PA paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to practice in PA; Medical Command eligibility; 5 years’ related experience for the Prehospital Response Unit; ICS 100/200, IS 700/800, ABLS/ASLS training.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status.
• Medical Command eligible for PA paramedic practice.
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN.

Responsibilities

• Delivers emergency medical care in the prehospital environment.
• Operates emergency response vehicle and ensures patient care during transport.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provides ALS/BLS care.
• Completes required regulatory documentation and maintains equipment/inventory.
• Assists with training and adheres to HIPAA and privacy policies.

(20%)* Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)* Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)* Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.
