Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Event Medicine is seeking a PRN Paramedic in Nashville, TN. You will provide advanced clinical intervention during patient transport, follow life-support protocols, and educate patients and families.

You’ll ensure equipment readiness and participate in a collaborative, fast-paced transport environment. Requirements include Advanced Life Support and Paramedic credentials, BLS, and a Tennessee driver license.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire; BLS within 1 month; Tennessee driver's license required; Paramedic credential required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level clinical intervention and stabilization for critically ill or injured patients during transport, collaborating with physicians and RNs.
• Drive patient safety and outcomes by initiating life-support protocols and communicating patient progress.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions and interventions to ensure informed decisions.
• Inspect and maintain transport equipment to ensure peak field performance.

• Drive patient safety and clinical outcomes by initiating life-support protocols and maintaining constant communication regarding the patient's condition and treatment progress
• Empower patients and their families through population-specific education, clearly explaining medical conditions and therapeutic interventions to ensure they are informed and supported
• Ensure operational readiness and team safety by meticulously inspecting and maintaining specialized transport equipment to guarantee peak performance in the field

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Tennessee Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Paramedic credentialed from the Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Division obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
