A Day in the Life of a Paramedic

You respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24/7, driving various emergency vehicles under different conditions, including bad weather and rural terrains. You follow GPS and directions, communicate with dispatchers and EMS crews, and adhere to all driving laws. Upon arrival, you provide patient care within your competencies and protocols, often lifting and transporting patients alone. You interact professionally with police, fire departments, and the public, while maintaining detailed reports and billing documentation.

You ensure vehicle and equipment readiness through daily checks, report discrepancies, and assist with general housekeeping and special projects. Your dedication helps serve those in need, and you are excited to advance your career as a paramedic.

Qualifications for EMT

• High school diploma
• Certified Paramedic in Texas
• CPR certification
• PHTLS or ITLS training
• Valid Texas driver’s license and insurable record
• Ability to lift up to 125 lbs.
• Customer service skills

Previous emergency care experience is preferred but not mandatory. Effective communication, stress management, compassion, teamwork, and professionalism are essential qualities for this role.

Work Schedule

Flexible shifts including 8, 12, 24, or 48 hours, with accommodations for school schedules.
