Job summary

Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine is seeking a Workers' Compensation Paralegal in Englewood, CO to support active cases with drafting, discovery and filing tasks. You will handle document review, calendaring deadlines and docket management, and interact with clients and witnesses as needed.

The role requires a paralegal certificate or associate degree and at least five years of workers’ compensation experience; familiarity with case management software (Filevine or similar) and Spanish

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or associate degree required.
• At least 5 years of workers’ compensation experience.
• Excellent knowledge of W/C rules and procedures.
• Experience with case management software preferred (Filevine).
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents such as correspondence, pleadings, and discovery.
• Perform discovery, document review and production tasks.
• Interact directly with clients and coordinate witness interviews.
• Prepare for hearings and manage deadlines and docket.

Job Details: Job Location: ENGLEWOOD, CO 80112, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 Salary, Job Category: Legal Admin, Burg Simpson's Workers' Compensation Paralegals play an active role in all aspects of cases including legal document drafting (correspondence, pleadings, discovery, etc.), discovery, document review and production, direct interaction with clients, witness interviews, hearing preparation, deadline calendaring, docket management, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or associate’s degree in paralegal studies (or a combination of work experience, which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree)
• At least 5years of workers’ compensation experience (claimant representation experience is preferred but not required)
• Excellent knowledge of the Division of Workers' Compensation and Office of Administrative Courts rules of procedure
• Experience with Filevine or a similar case management software is preferred
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus!
