Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban, P.C. seeks a Workers’ Compensation Plaintiff Paralegal to support attorneys handling workers’ compensation and related personal injury matters.

You will manage case files from intake through settlement, scheduling, hearings, and closure, coordinating with clients, insurers, medical providers, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and communicates effectively.

Competenze

• Two+ years of workers’ compensation and personal injury law experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic filing systems, and legal case management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Experience requesting medical records and communicating with insurance adjusters.

The Workers’ Compensation Plaintiff Paralegal provides administrative and legal support to attorneys representing injured workers in workers’ compensation claims. This position assists with case management from the initial client intake through settlement, mediation, hearings, and case closure. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced in communicating with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and opposing counsel.

Essential Functions:

• Communicate with clients to obtain information for and in preparation for discovery & litigation.
• Manage workers’ compensation attorneys’ calendars and scheduling order deadlines.
• Schedule depositions and other case-related events.
• Prepare for hearings by drafting pleadings, exhibits, and coordinating witness interviews.
• Prepare mediation submissions.
• Assist attorneys in preparing drafts of legal pleadings, discovery, and discovery responses.
• Prepare affidavits and organize exhibits.
• Create an index of unpaid medical bills and work with the WC Case Manager to assist with the same.
• Request medical bills and medical records from providers as needed.
• Prepare summaries of medical records as needed.
• Review and evaluate incoming discovery and Rule 607 documentation.
• Prepare settlement demand packages in preparation for mediation and informal settlement negotiations.
• Review and organize client information and files.
• Assist attorney in drafting legal documents, completing forms, answering discovery requests, preparing for hearings, and preparing responses to motions.
• Prepare files for hearings, subpoena witnesses, etc.
• Coordinate expert witnesses and investigators.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic filing systems, and legal case management software.
• Two or more years of experience in workers’ compensation and personal injury law.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures, processes, and IC forms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion.
• Experience requesting medical records and communicating with insurance adjusters.
• Familiarity with hearing preparation, discovery, settlement documentation, and litigation support.
