Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Paralegal with Top Secret clearance to join a fast-paced legal team in the Washington, DC area. The role supports the OGC and LITB/IALB, handling research, drafting, discovery, and document management across federal matters in a hybrid environment (Washington, DC / Remote / Arlington, VA).

The successful candidate will have a paralegal certificate or JD (or be enrolled in ABA-accredited law school), 2+ years of litigation experience, and proficiency with Lexis/Westlaw

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful.
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems and legal research resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems; familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, accurate, timely paralegal support to OGC and LITB/IALB with minimal supervision.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, memos, and correspondence; conduct legal research.
• Review discovery materials for relevance and privilege; prepare privilege logs.
• Organize case records, manage case notes, and track metrics in case management databases.
• Coordinate classifications reviews and prepare declarations and preservation notices.
