Job summary

CGS Federal in Chantilly, VA seeks a Paralegal to support the Legal Department on federal government projects. You will assist with document review, research, and drafting under attorney guidance, ensuring timely, accurate work.

Ideal candidates hold a paralegal certificate or JD or are enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, with 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, and strong Lexis/Westlaw, MS Office, and discovery skills.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending ABA-accredited law school
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience
• At least one year of automated litigation support; knowledge of federal/state court systems
• Excellent written and oral communication; thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw
• Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and discovery review platforms
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, accurate, timely paralegal support to OGC, assisting LITB or IALB
• Research and locate responsive information, identify relevant laws and articles
• Perform complex legal research and draft memoranda and correspondence
• Assist attorneys with drafting documents and conducting litigation support
• Maintain discovery materials, privilege logs, and case management records
• Prepare reports and manage case information in the case tracking database
