Responsibilities

  • Explain the transfer-of-ownership process to involved parties by phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Identify current property owners, confirm ownership records, and gather legal information needed to initiate ownership transfers.
  • Prepare, review, and process legal documents such as affidavits, transfer agreements, certifications, name changes, and related forms.
  • Obtain and verify notarized signatures, trust documents, powers of attorney, court orders, and other legal records for attorney review.
  • Maintain accurate data entry in internal records systems while managing customer service, clerical tasks, and strict deadlines.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal - Probate/Real Estate for a direct hire opportunity in Glendale, CA. This role is ideal for a legal professional with experience in estate planning, probate, ownership transfers, trust documentation, affidavits, and real estate-related records. The Paralegal - Probate/Real Estate will support transfer-of-ownership matters, gather and review legal documentation, communicate with families and property owners, and coordinate with internal legal resources. Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $85,000 to $90,000 per year.
  • Direct hire opportunity.
  • Some local travel to other locations may be required, with mileage expense reimbursement provided.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Manage probate, estate planning, and real estate-related ownership transfer documentation.
  • Communicate with property owners, family members, heirs, and internal legal teams regarding transfer requirements.
  • Research ownership history, family relationships, and supporting legal documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate legal forms, affidavits, certifications, transfer agreements, and related records.
  • 3 to 5 years of paralegal or related legal experience preferred, with probate, estate planning, or real estate property transaction experience strongly valued.
  • Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved institution required.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Four-year degree preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license required, including state-required active auto insurance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with sensitivity in personal and legal matters.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Estate planning and probate experience.
  • Real estate property transaction experience.
  • Notary Public commission.
