Job summary

CACl? The Paralegal (Legal Assistant I) role supports the Department of Justice in a fast-paced litigation environment. You will assist with discovery, deposition preparation, and trial support while handling case management and eDiscovery tasks.

The position emphasizes office-based work, training on automated litigation tools, and potential certification pathways such as Relativity and ACEDS as part of professional development.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or a four-year college degree.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or related internship.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong computer/app familiarity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; understanding of ESI and document management.
• DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for discovery and motions.
• Summarize depositions; maintain case files and perform simple legal research.
• Index, track, and control document discovery and exhibits for depositions and trial.
• Assist attorneys in courtroom and review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Support FOIA, production requests, and Congressional inquiries as needed.
