Job summary

CA​CI International Inc. is seeking a Paralegal (USAO) to support criminal and civil litigation teams. The role involves preparing legal documents, managing case files, and assisting in trial preparation.

You will collaborate with USAO attorneys, perform discovery tasks, maintain case materials, and ensure compliance with federal procedures. The position offers growth opportunities, DOJ travel handling, and potential certification support, including Relativity and ACEDS.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
• One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or related project experience is required; trial experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of legal research tools (LEXIS, Westlaw) and eDiscovery procedures is expected.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and related hardware.

Responsibilities

• Prepares legal documents using templates, such as motions, memoranda, subpoenas, and discovery documents; ensures proper formatting.
• Performs routine document center tasks including filing, binding, packaging, and mail handling.
• Provides trial preparation assistance to AUSAs by compiling trial notebooks and witness lists.
• Opens/closes case files and maintains case materials for disposition or storage.
• Maintains calendar of active cases and schedules interviews, conferences, and court appearances.
• Assists AUSAs in producing discovery for defense counsel and manages case material using databases and spreadsheets.
• Handles travel arrangements and related vouchers following DOJ policies.
