Job summary

International Executive Service Corps is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support lawyers, clients, and external vendors across all phases of matters. You will manage case resources, assist with discovery, document production, and trial preparation, and help with translations as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and strong written and verbal communication, plus keen organizational and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of legal/paralegal environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills; detail-oriented.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask when required.
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Spanish language ability is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Project management and organization of case resources through all phases of litigation.
  • Assist with special projects supporting the Firm’s practice development, knowledge management and business development initiatives.
  • Conduct fact research utilizing internal and external resources, as directed by supervising lawyers.
  • Assist with document collection and production.
  • Assembling, organizing, and circulating case materials.
  • Assist with meetings, depositions, interviews, hearings and trial preparation.
  • Search for, review and assemble litigation materials from Westlaw/Lexis/Bloomberg Law.
  • Coordination with external vendors.
  • Prepare preliminary translations.

Job description

Litigation Paralegals work very closely with each other and the Firm’s lawyers, clients and external vendors, depending on the needs of each particular matter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project management and organization of case resources through all phases of litigation
  • Assist with special projects supporting the Firm’s practice development, knowledge management and business development initiatives
  • Conduct fact research utilizing internal and external resources, as directed by supervising lawyers
  • Assist with document collection and production
  • Assembling, organizing, and circulating case materials
  • Assist with meetings, depositions, interviews, hearings and trial preparation
  • Search for, review and assemble litigation materials from Westlaw/Lexis/Bloomberg Law
  • Coordination with external vendors
  • Prepare preliminary translations

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior legal experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Language skills are beneficial, specifically Spanish

The base salary range offered for this role will be $61,000. When determining a candidate’s compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
