Job description

THIS ROLE IS COMPLETELY REMOTE, HOWEVER MUST RESIDE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STATES FOR CONSIDERATION: AZ, FL, GA, ID, IA, KY, MI, NE, NM, NY, OH, TX, UT, WA & WI

  • MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM OR 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST

SUMMARY:

Assist Legal Affairs Department in scheduling, completing & maintaining regulatory filings required by state & federal agencies in accordance with statutory & contractual requirements. The paralegal will assist compliance officials in scheduling, completing & maintaining filings related to compliance with healthcare-related statutory or programmatic requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Draft and prepare regulatory filings and other documents for MHI and selected subsidiaries
  • Research statutes, regulations, and bulletins related to managed care and government-sponsored healthcare programs.
  • Coordinate activities between regulators and Legal Affairs Department.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience as a paralegal
  • Preference to have at least 3 years of managed healthcare experience with an understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel; document management systems (iManage if possible), Westlaw, Edge, or Chrome, Sharepoint sites.
  • Knowledge of NAIC regulations and guidelines, state insurance departments’ websites and filing portals.
