The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) is a remedial body designed to aid and assist Maryland victims of crime. CICB receives and reviews a high volume of claims for reimbursement from individuals related to expenses incurred due to their victimization. The Paralegal will assist the CICB in managing claims, conducting research, drafting opinions, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will understand how to read, interpret, apply, and explain Maryland law, have excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to helping victims of crime.
This is a special appointment position which serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work. Candidates may substitute college credits or degrees as specified in the original description.
Experience as an administrator, legal assistant, or paralegal; completion of a paralegal or legal assistant certificate program or related coursework.
