Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Justice, Transportation Division, seeks a Paralegal II to provide litigation and legal support to attorneys handling eminent domain/condemnation actions across the state. The role involves drafting complex documents, coordinating discovery, and preparing exhibits for trials.

You will manage calendars, schedule witnesses, file documents in Superior Courts, and liaise with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited paralegal program or equivalent education.
• Two years of substantive paralegal experience or a bachelor's degree with related experience.
• Experience drafting complex legal documents and managing discovery.

Responsibilities

• Draft amendments to complaints and responses to discovery.
• Complete court forms and file documents in Superior Courts.
• Assist attorneys with data gathering, exhibits, and affidavits for trials.
• Schedule witnesses and manage calendar-related deadlines.
• Interface with clients, staff, and attorneys regarding communications.
