Job summary

Cipriani & Werner P.C. is seeking a General Liability Paralegal for our Woodbridge-Iselin, NJ office to support defense matters. The role requires independent preparation of subpoenas, review of discovery and medical records, and drafting motions.

This is an in-person position with a salary range of $70,000–$85,000 based on experience. The ideal candidate has a paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of NY defense paralegal work, with familiarity in NY NYCHA/E-track, NJ

Qualifications

• Must have a paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a New York defense paralegal required.
• Must have experience working both NJ and NY cases; NY NYCHA/E-track filing system, NJ ECourts and PACER preferred.
• Experience in commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accident and product liability preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.

• Prepare subpoenas independently and review discovery responses and medical records.
• Schedule, notice, gather and produce records for Independent Medical Examinations and deadlines with follow-up.
• Draft motions to compel, sanctions, and for extraordinary relief; enforce subpoenas.
• Perform verdict searches, docket searches, social media and background research.

The Woodbridge Office in Iselin, NJ is looking for a General Liability Paralegal to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Must be able to independently prepare subpoena, review and summarize discovery responses and medical records completely.
• Schedule, notice, confirm, gather and produce all records related to Independent Medical Examinations, calendar relevant deadlines with strong follow up skills.
• Draft motions to compel, sanctions, for extraordinary relief and motions to enforce subpoenas.
• Perform verdict searches, docket searches, social media and background searches.

Position Requirements:

• Must have a paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a New York defense paralegal required.
• Must have experience working both NJ and NY cases; experience using NY NYCHA/E-track filing system, NJ ECourts and PACER preferred.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 and represents C&W’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
