Job summary

The Illinois Farm Bureau is seeking a Paralegal in our Bloomington, IL office to support the corporate Legal Department across multiple areas including corporate, litigation, regulatory, transactions and contracts. You will act as a liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, the organization and in-house staff.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
• Paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) at all levels of the organization.
• Possesses analytical ability and ingenuity, with strong problem-solving skills and good judgement.
• Technical savvy.
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Office suite and legal enterprise software.
• Well organized, able to identify and prioritize tasks, and successfully manage multiple projects.
• Proven ability to anticipate needs and requirements and adjust positively to changes in direction and/or assignment.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, prepares, proofs, analyzes and edits drafts of legal documents.
• Prepares and files legal documents with appropriate entities, as required.
• Prepares and conducts summaries of legal research as directed.
• May review and ensure the company's compliance with regulations.
• May assist attorneys with litigation case files, reports, legal holds and discovery matters.
• Works on special projects and corporate initiatives as assigned.
