Qualifications

• Associate Degree required (Bachelor Degree preferred) in business law or legal studies or completion of an approved paralegal training program.
• Two years of advanced clerical work experience in a legal services operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; evaluate and interpret contracts, financial statements, and other complex documentation.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Responsibilities

• Performs regulatory compliance review of documents and reviews financial statements; maintains extensive oral and written communication with corporate and legal representatives of registrants; analyzes contracts, leases, building specifications and other materials.
• Performs paralegal work in researching, analyzing and monitoring the status of assigned cases; writes legal memoranda and prepares routine legal documents for review and approval by a licensed attorney.
• Reviews transcripts of hearings and case files and excerpts pertinent information; performs legal research for special projects and assignments.
• Reviews privileged documents, handles discovery requests, and assists with deposition preparation and trial exhibits.
• Work is performed with some independence under supervision and is reviewed on the basis of conferences and results obtained.
