Jobtailor in Arizona is seeking a detail-oriented paralegal/legal assistant to support attorneys in the clearance and prosecution of U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright matters.

You will assist with searches, filings, due diligence, maintain electronic records, draft reporting correspondence under supervision, and grow knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures while working with clients and team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting trademark prosecution or TTAB matters preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in the clearance and prosecution of U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright matters.
  • Assist with searches, enforcement, and due diligence.
  • Update and maintain electronic records.
  • Draft reporting correspondence under supervision.
  • Develop knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures related to trademark prosecution.
  • Assist with preparation of U.S. trademark prosecution documents for attorney review and comment.
  • Participate in training in U.S. and international trademark and copyright issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely daily time entries according to firm protocols, policies, and best practices.
  • Communicate proactively with attorneys, clients, and team members regarding assignments, deadlines, and status updates.
  • Help promote and maintain the goodwill and reputation of the firm while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Flexibility in assisting the team with accelerated client schedules
  • Exposure to trademark and copyright prosecution or trademark litigation and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) is preferred but not required
