Job summary

CF Legal Recruiting and Staffing is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to support a national law firm’s trademark practice in the US and internationally.

The role covers clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement of trademarks, with emphasis on coordinating with foreign counsel, drafting applications, and managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
  • 4+ years paralegal experience in a law firm.
  • Proficiency with USPTO systems: TESS, TEAS, TEASi, TSDR, TTAB.
  • Experience with trademark search databases: Corsearch and Saegis.
  • Knowledge of WIPO forms and search databases.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CPi docket software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and discreet.
  • Ability to manage an active docket in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary clearance searches and analyze US search reports.
  • Draft and file US trademark applications, including goods/services descriptions.
  • Prepare and file use and renewal documents with the USPTO.
  • Coordinate with foreign counsel to file international applications and renewals.
  • Assist with TTAB proceedings, oppositions, cancellations and enforcement matters.
  • Support transactional trademark work, including diligence and portfolio audits.
  • Prepare form trademark assignments and review USPTO abstracts for chain of title.

Compensation: $95,000–$115,000/year + full benefits (medical, dental, vision, prescription, life, disability, FSA, 401K, PTO)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

A highly regarded, nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to support its US and international trademark practice. This role covers the full trademark lifecycle, searching, clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement within a collaborative, entrepreneurial firm culture that invests in professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary clearance searches and investigations of potentially conflicting marks; review comprehensive US search reports and draft analysis via email summaries and opinion letters
  • Draft and file US trademark applications, including preparing descriptions of goods and services
  • Prepare and file use and renewal documents with the USPTO
  • Communicate with foreign counsel to file/maintain international applications, renew registrations, and respond to office actions
  • Coordinate with clients' marketing teams to gather evidence of use and supporting materials
  • Draft responses to USPTO Office Actions and coordinate on refusals
  • Support TTAB proceedings and enforcement matters — oppositions, cancellations, counterfeit programs, online takedowns, and customs recordations
  • Support transactional trademark work — M&A diligence, portfolio audits, chain-of-title remediation, post-closing integration
  • Prepare form trademark assignments and review USPTO assignment abstracts for chain of title and lien status
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
  • 4+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm environment
  • Proficiency with USPTO systems: TESS, TEAS, TEASi, TSDR, and TTAB
  • Experience with trademark search databases, particularly Corsearch and Saegis
  • Knowledge of WIPO international forms and search databases
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CPi docket software
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion with confidential matters
  • Ability to manage an active docket and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred (Plus)
  • Copyright application drafting, security interest review, and copyright searching/diligence
  • WHOIS investigations and UDRP/URS proceedings experience
